Let’s face it… CPR needs to be easy to learn in order to remember it and to be able to recall it when you need it in an emergency! In my classes, CPR is taught in an easy way to understand so that rescuers can learn, remember and perform CPR better! You won’t want to take a CPR class from anyone else again! · The American Heart Association recommends that every family learn and practice CPR. · One in seven people will have the opportunity to use CPR in their lifetime. · 90% of the time, CPR will be done on a family member or a close friend. · When someone’s heart or breathing stops, he or she typically has only 4-6 minutes before lack of oxygen can result in brain damage, or even death. · On average, the response time for medics to arrive on the scene is 8-10 minutes. · The simple skills of CPR can buy extra time for a loved one, until professional help can arrive, by artificially circulating blood and oxygen to the brain and other vital organs. · The American Heart Association estimates that 100,000 to 200,000 lives of adults and children could be saved each year if CPR were performed early enough. In fact, statistics show that the earlier CPR is initiated, the greater the chances of survival. · When CPR is initiated within 4 minutes, the survival rate is 43%. · Because time is so critical, you want to be sure that you, family members and friends are prepared to quickly take action! · There has NEVER been a documented case of HIV or AIDS being transmitted by mouth to mouth CPR.
